Today is Free Write Friday. In this blog, I will be telling you about how important it is to study. It is very important to study for test, even if you are positive that you will pass it. It is also very important, beause you want to get the best grade that you can possibly get when you take your test. Here is an example, today I had two tests, one was for math an the other was a history test. I studied and really soaked in some information about these two test. When I took the test, I felt very good about them, because I had studied. Well, when I took my math test, and gave it to my teacher to grade it, my score was excellent. My history test is not yet graded, but I know I will get a great grade. If you study, you feel very confident about your test, instead of worrying about it. Another good test taking strategy is to practice the night before and in the morning once more. Never give up. It is good to study and fail, then to fail and not study at all, because you knew that you tried.

I hope that you can study and learn a lot, than to not study and fail. The point that I am trying to make is that studying takes you far. It will help you exceed in life. If you try and do your best than you will be proud of yourself, because you have studied.

Today is Free Write Friday. Have you ever heard of Make Beliefs Comics? Make Beliefs Comics is a website where you get to make your own comics. This is a great site to use if you are interested in making comics or comic books. It offers a variety of things you can use to make your own comic. They offer characters you can use, backgrounds for your comic, and much more. I really like this website, because instead of drawing my own comics and messing up and having to redo it again, I can just make it on here, and if I make a mistake all I have to do is delete it. Another thing I like about the website Make Beliefs Comics is that it gives you the option to e-mail it to yourself or to other people. I like this because if  I am very satisfied with the way it turned out, I can send it to people I know, so they can see how funny or silly my comic is. This website offers you the choice of to print your comic as well/

Many of you are probably wondering how I knew this website. To answer the question, in my history class we have to write a dialogue about the fight between Pope Gregory and King Henry, and put it into a comic. One of the options was this website and some other comic websites. I hope that you now know a good website for making comic strips. Click here to go to the website!

Today I am going to talk about Ribbon Hero 2 and the videos of Microsoft Office 2010, and telling you which one I think will help you learn better. Ribbon Hero 2 is a program from Microsoft Office, to hep you learn more about their program. First of all, I think both of them help you learn pretty well, but the one I think will help you more better would be the videos of Microsoft Office 2010 and their practice. In the videos, it physically shows you how to place and put items. Although Ribbon Hero is a fun game, it dose not teach me as much as the videos did. When it tells me to do something, but half of the time I don't know where to start. It is not that much straight forward, like the Microsoft Office 2010 videos. However, the Microsoft Office 2010 videos are rather long as well. It takes me about an hour to complete one of the lessons, but it is worth it if it is going to teach me something that I never knew before.

Some people have different ways of learning, but I learn more by watching videos and doing a practice at the end of it. What do you think? Do you learn more by playing a game, or taking videos? This is the current thing that we are doing in Mr. Kimbley's seventh grade Computer Applications class. Don't get me wrong, both programs are great, but the one that heped me learn more was Microsoft Office videos.

In my computers and Core class, we are making and writing a haiku project. We are making it in Google Docs, or Drive. A haiku is a type of Japanese poetry. It consists of three lines with five syllables in the first line, seven in the the next, and five again in the first. It is pretty tough trying to make a meaningful piece of poetry. It is also hard trying to keep track of the syllables you use, because if you make a mistake, then the whole line will not sound right according to the syllables. The haiku's that we are writing about, are about the story The Big Wave, by Pearl S. Buck. In this story a boy named Jiya, is in deep grief, because he had lost his family in a tsunami, or a big wave. Now, because of this lost, he has a choice to live with his friends family  or with an old man who wants him for his son. Jiya chose his friends family, even though the old man would give him anything he needs. When the boy and his friend grow up, Jiya has lost his fear of the wave and wants to build a house next to the beach. This is how he over came his fear, by facing his enemy.

The point of this project, is to tell the events in the story that happened  in a three line form of poetry. This is a grade for both Core and computers, so I hope to do well! Do you think that it is easy writing a haiku? Try it for yourself and tell me what you think! Haiku's can be hat ever you want it to be about!

Today is Free Write Friday. Today I will be blogging about Winter. Winter is a seasonable season. It is also the coldest season. In Winter the weather can be up to 32 degrees and that is freezing! Water freezes at 32 degrees, so imagine how it will do to your body! It can freeze you up, with out the proper clothes.Speaking of proper clothes, that means warm jackets and pants or jeans. Winter also means snow! It does not snow where I live, but I have been taken to see snow during cold weather. Snow is like water, but it is slushie water. It is also very freezing!  This is also one of the reasons why I like Winter. Do you like Winter? Winter also means that hot drinks are comming, like hot coco. I ike hot coco.

This are a few of the reasons why I like winter. Why do you like winter. This is something to think about. I hope you read my blog to find out some ideas that may help you. If you don't like winter, then what is your favorite season? There is many to choose from!

Today is Free Write Friday. In this blog I will be bloging about the DNA model that we made in class, out of glass beads. It is really like an ortanment. This was pretty difficult. because you never know how the beads are going to turn out. For me this project was pretty easy. I took me about two days to complete this DNA replica model. A first, when you make the DNA, without twisting it, it looks like a ladder. The first step is two put about seven beads in the middel of the wire. We use wire. because we will be able to bend the ladder into a doubel helix later on. This process takes about a day to complete. The second part is trick, but you get the hang of it after awhile. You have to bend the wire a certain way, then you just complete the first step as many times as you like.

This is what we are currently making in Mrs. Poole's science class. I like this project, because I can learn what the side bases of DNA are named and I can actually see it as a three dimensional model. I like learning with "hands on" activites, because it helps to visualize what we are learning and practicing.

Today is Free Write Friday. In this blog I will be blogging about the fact that quarter two is almost over. Quarter 2 will be over in two weeks. After two weeks are over, we get Christmas break! Christmas break lasts for three weeks. We come back to school on January 14. I can't wait til Christmas break, because we have three weeks off from school, and all we have to worry about is after the end of three weeks its done and we go back to school. It is fun also, because we get to spend Christmas and New Years Day at home, instead of at school. I also love break, because you finally get to have some free time.

So for the next two weeks before break, students really need to bring up their grades  so that they can have good grades before the report card comes out. Also, for many people, the next two weeks are very frustrating  All I can say is that I can't wait til' winter break. So, what are you doing over winter? I know that for a majority of that time I will read, and sleep!

Today is Free Write Friday. In today's blog I will be blogging about the second quarter rally. In about three weeks, the second quarter will be over, but today will be the second quarter rally. In the rally, you have to scream really loud. It is deafening! We have a rally every quarter to make off a new quarter. When a rally is on Friday, we have a different schedule every time we have a rally. We have lunch after seventh period instead of after sixth. It is a really weird schedule. Today's theme for the rally is the 80's theme. Today we get to dress up looking like the 80's. This is a really fun theme.

The next rally will probably be in three months. So, do you like rallies? Do you like to hear people scream? I don't. Like I said before, it is deafening. I can't wait until the rally is over, but however it is really fun to dress up in school! I have also heard that in the assembly they would show pictures of some of the teaches in the 80's! Im sure it will be a blast.

Today is Free Write Friday. In this blog, I will be blogging about how today where I live it was raining and hailing. In the morning it started to rain. I guess the storm wasn't done yet, because during my 5th period class, it started to rain, but then shortly after hail came falling from the sky. The hail started to pick up pace, so it just flew everywhere. The hail was as big almost the size of a nut. It was kind of scary, because you don't really see this alot where I live.  After about ten minutes the hail and rain started to stop It was really wet and cold outside. At the same time I thought that this rain would be good for the crops and plants.

It is still cold outside, and I think it will probably still be raining. I was glad that at least the hail stoped, but it will probaby come back again. The reason why I think hail started to pour was that when it is really cold outside, and it is raining, the rain probably came down to fast, and the wind froze it up. Like I have said before it is very, very unusuall to have hail here were I live.

Today is Free Write Friday. In this blog I will be blogging about the simulation that we had last Thursday. On Wensday, we took notes on the Empire of Ghana. Little did we know that Thursday morning, we would have a simulation. A simulation is almost like a reinactment of somethig or someone. We reinacted the Empire of Ghana. There were special parts that some people had to play, such as South Africans, the Monarch queen, the people of Ghana, and so on. I was a South African in the simulation. I had valuable salt, that the Wanangarrans wanted. They had gold. In the simulation we had to silent barter. Silent barter is when you trade with out making contact with the one you are trading with. So, for example I would leave salt on a trade tabel, and then the Wanangarrans would come to see how much we traded and to see if it was a good trade. The Soninke Monarch would always have a special tax for traders.

During the simulation, I learned alot about Ghana and its empire. I also learned that Ghana was very famouse for its two valuable resources, salt and gold. It turns out the one who had the most pairs of gold and salt were the Wanangarrans. So, in our simulation they one.
