Today is Core Concentrations Thursday. In this blog, I will be blogging about the king of the Franks, Charlemagne. Charlemagne  was also the ruler of the Romans. In the 800's Pope Leo III, crowned him king of the Romans. The setting was in Europe. Europe is were Charlemagne went most of the time. Being king of the Romans was on of the important reasons why he was famously known. People also called him "Charles the Great", because his name was kind of hard to pronounce. His real name Charlemagne means the same thing as "Charles the Great", but in Italian. He was a very important part in Medieval history, or the Medieval Times. Charlemagne also was very popular with an empire called the Franks, because he was their leader, or king. This is pretty interesting, because he was king of the Romans, and Franks. I wonder what would happen if those two groups got in a fight!

This is our current lesson for History. We are not only learning about Charlemagne  but we are also learning Europe, and also the second part of what happen to Rome after in fell. I hope that you have learned a little bit more about Charlemagne and Europe. I think that this is a really interesting topic. What do you think?
