Todays blog will be about how scientist could find rare plant fossils in Antarctica  This is because Antarctica used be combined with other continents  This is how rare plants show up in Antarctica. The reason that they fossilize very quickly  because of Antarctica's climate. Everyone knows that it is very cold there. Without good shelter, you can freeze to death. Plants don't really have heat in their body to keep them alive, so they freeze faster and you do not bury plants when they die, so they just lie there. That is how they become fossilized. Since almost the entire species is on the specific continent  they all die. That is why many plants that are fossilized are rare. Many people do not know that the species of that certain plant existed.

I hope that you have now learned that this is the reason why special plants are fossilized in rare places. This could happen to anything. If the continents do collide again, I think that this will probably happen again. I hope that I have given you some food for thought. If you really think about it, why are  plant showing up in different places? This could possibly be why! This is what I think what do you think of it. Do you have a different opinion  If you do, I would love to hear it. Until next Science Solutions blog prompt!!

For my science class and computers class, we are making a webpage for a animal that we have to research. We are making this for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Every seventh grader has to have a group of three or more and an animal to research  Every group has a different animal. My group has the Giant Anteater. It is very interesting. Our science teacher gave each member of the group a paper to fill out the information of the animal. I got the classification paper. On the paper, all you need to do is fill out the blank spots. It is very simple and easy.

The paper has questions like what class, family, etc. My other two partners got a paper to fill out themselves  Since I did research on the animal, I am going to tell you some interesting facts. Did you know the Giant Anteater walks on its knuckles!  It does not only eat ants, but it also eats termites and soft fruit. It eats by using its giant nose like a vacuum. It can be 5-7 feet long. Doing this research I learned more about the Giant Anteater than before. Come to think about it, I think this animal is very cool! I can't wait to go to the zoo and see my animal!!

Todays blog will be about the greatest scientific discovery ever discovered. During all of the important things that I have learned in science during the time that I have been there, the biggest discovery to find out for me was the discovery of DNA. If Rosalind Franklin and all the other scientist have never helped discover that, I think it the world would not have discovered DNA until twenty years after their discovery. DNA is the blueprint of life. Without it, I think that people would not know how they inherited their characteristics. There are many other things that tied up with this discovery, but discovering DNA was the best choice for me.

In Mrs. Poole's Science class, we learned a lot during the semester and a half since we have been there. We learned about: cells, evolution, DNA, etc. It was really tough to choose just one topic. I just think that this topic was really easy for me to understand and learn. If you would like to read more about Rosalind Franklin, the top scientist that discovered mainly all about DNA's shape, click here. Okay that all for this blog post. Until next time!
