Today is Math Monday. This blog will be about a game that we have played for math. It is a very educational game. It is very simple, all you have to do is subtract the big number by the little one to get the answer. This is an online educational math game. It is called Diffy. You can subtract by integers, fractions, while numbers, and money. This is a very simple game that only requires thinking. For this game, it has about five levels. They are very easy levels. The object of this game is to fill in the blank spots in the diamond by just subtracting the numbers. It makes you a faster thinker and solver. This game is also good if you are bored and have nothing else to do. Diffy tries to challenge you, by making you solve problems faster than you normally solve them.

             I strongly reccomend Diffy, because it helps you learn a lot more faster. You will get good at it every time you play it. It is really easy all you do is subtract. This will help you be a faster math learner. This is the key to mental math. Here is the link, click here. You will know mental math more easier and faster, like I said before. If you really want to know subtraction more faster than normal, check this game out. If you play it for at least three times a day you will know this more faster, like I said before.
 
               Todays blog post will be about why when you graph an inequality such as: <, >, <, and >. , you have to either put a closed dot or an open one. You only put an open dot when you don't have a line underneath the greater than or less than sign. You put a closed dot with the signs that have a line underneath  We do this so that we can tell the signs apart if they are different signs. You have to do this if you want everybody to see your point and were its located and if it is a less than or equal to or if it is a greater than or equal to. This is just something that you have to do in order to tell these signs:  <, >, <, and > apart from which way you are going.  This is the current lesson that we are learning in my Pre-Algebra class. It is not that hard if you know which inequality that you are using it is basically like greater than and less than, or >, <, but in a little bit harder way. You can also use these to form a problem like v+5>12 You would then subtract five from both sides. The problem would look like this 7v>7. All you do next is to do the opposite that it is telling you so that the number could cancel out, so it would look like this v=1. That is all that you do to solve a problem with inequalities, and this is how to tell them apart with a different way of graphing it.

                 There are alot of numbers between the number 0 and 1. In case if you haven't noticed there is an infinite amount of whole numbers. It just keeps repeating over and over. For example, 0.456 is between 0 and 1 because there is not a whole number right in the ones spot. So just like whole numbers it never ever has an end. However, if it looks like this, 1.456  with a whole number in the ones place it is now no longer part of 0. It is now transitioning to be between the 1 and 2 place on the number line  You really need to look at the whole number, before you graph it on a chart. Heres another example 0.123,457 that is still between 0 and 1. Remember it dose not have a whole number between it so it will stay between 0 and 1. Heres another example: 1.234 that would be between 1 and 2, because the whole number is one. Like I said before, watch the whole number and were you are going plot it, this is very important.

                 Say that you have 2x=16, I'm pretty sure you already know what this is, but can you do this problem without division? Its easy and I will show you how to with these steps. NOTE: your answer will be a fraction. First, you have to get the variable by itself, so you need to multiple by the reciprocal. This is how you do that, change 16 to a fraction and change 2 to a fraction. So it would look like this, 2/1x= 16/1. Then when you multiply you just switch the number at the right like this, 2/1 x 1/16. You can cross simplify to make the multiplication easier. So, you should have 1/8,in a fraction. That is your final answer  if you want to be secure about your answer you can multiply 2 and 1/8. You should have gotten 1/8 as your answer.

                 Many people have different ways to solve a math problem. They can do it in their heads, they need to write it out, and there are other different ways as well. The way I solve math problems is that first I look at the question, then I write in on a piece of paper, and follow the steps to solve the problem. Like I said before, some people have that ability to solve in their heads and still get it right, but some people can't. I write it out then solve the problem, so I know that I can be sure that the answer is right. Before I solve the problem, I break it down until it becomes a problem that I can solve. For example, I would break down 3x+4=13, to the first step, 4-13, which equals 9 so then I would have, 3x=9 , and I could solve by dividing from the both sides, because what ever you do to one side you have to do to the other. The answer for 3x+4=13, would eventually be 9, because 13-4 would 9 and 3x3 would be nine. In other words, 3x3=9+4=13. This is how I solve problems like this, by following the steps.
                        This is my way of solving problems like this, I follow the steps. I would like to see if people could get the answer right, while solving it in their heads. It is way more easier and you know that you will get the answer right. This is also a good way of checking your work to, plug in your answer and see if you got it right. I hope this helped you understand how to solve and check your answers.

                  The denominator in a fraction gets larger because it is a whole number. Unlike decimals, were sometimes it is not a whole number. For example: 1/4 the denominator is bigger because it is a whole number unlike decimals were it can look like this 0.25. So, heres my point think to yourself which one is bigger 4.0 or 0.25. It would be 4.0, because the 4 is a whole number and there is not a whole number in 0.25. Heres another example: 1/8 and 0.125. The denominator is 8 and that is a whole number. The decimal to that is 0.125, where it looks bigger but is actually not. Never forget to look and find where that decimal is placed. If it were placed right here, 12.5, then it would be a whole different story. All that I'm trying to say is to see where the decimal is placed and if there is a whole number.
                In conclusion, when ever dealing with fractions or decimals they all turn out to be the same thing, but only required to where the decimal is placed in the same place in both equations. So, 1/4 would be the same thing as .25 but in a different form.Always remember to check were the decimal is placed, before you solve the equation.
